At the beginning of 2021, the two Holtzbrinck companies AVE Publishing and Argon Verlag merged due to the growing popularity of podcasts, streaming, series and web videos, thus increasing and strengthening their joint opportunities. Among other things, the aim is to combine innovative as well as creative storytelling and to bundle existing expertise in distribution. In 2023, AVE will therefore complete the transformation to argon film. What will remain the same is our passion for exciting projects. Look forward to it with us!
We at argon film are thus building on a long television and film tradition. While in the beginning in the 1980s we were leaders in the field of political talk shows, in the 2010s we were able to become one of the addresses for docu-dramas like "Lehman. Gier frisst Herz" or "Schuss in die Nacht. The murder of Walter Lübcke". Another highlight of recent years was the cinema film "The Diary of Anne Frank", which we produced together with "Zeitsprung Pictures" for Universal.
Special, research-intensive and complex material appeals to us, which we develop in diverse teams and realize as one-offs or in series for our partners such as ARD, ZDF, 3sat and arte.
